The Target Top 2500 Universe consists of the 2500 largest common stocks by market capitalization in the
Wilshire 5000 Index in June of each year.
Construction/Methodology
Membership
- Derived from the Wilshire 5000 Index (excluding REITs and Limited Partnerships)
- Contains the largest 2,500 stocks by market capitalization remaining in the Wilshire 5000 Index.
- As of the June 1999 creation of this universe, market capitalization extended down to approximately $219 million.
Exclusions
- Excludes REITs and Limited Partnerships.
Adjustments and Maintenance
- The universe is re-created in June of each year.
- A security will be excluded from the universe at the month-end following the day it stops trading.
- Shares outstanding may be adjusted to reflect corporate events during the quarter; otherwise, shares outstanding are updated once per quarter.
